The concrete slab is poured - we have a floor. Now the
walls will begin to be built. Workers were laying out the placement of the
interior walls and the steel stud are on-site. Work remodeling the
existing Sunday School wing continues at a swift pace. New doorways have
been created and old doorways have been blocked up. The new room
dimensions are now in place for the most part.
New Construction:
The overview we repeat each time from upstairs in the office shows nearly
the entire new construction area.
The new slab floor is poured and you can now feel the size of the
addition. Workers were laying lines for the interior wall construction.
A door for our shorter members and visitors? This is the "old"
entrance at the west side of the sanctuary. The difference in the new
floor level versus the existing level at this door makes it look like a
"short door". This opening will be closed and the doorway moved
in the construction.

The emergency exit stairs from Fellowship Hall shows the increase in the
elevation of the new floor compared to the old ground level. More steps
will be built on the right side to enable exit from this area.
Renovations of Existing Education Wing:
The existing hallway has a new appearance with doors being moved and an
opening for a cross-hallway created.

The future Ladies Restroom. A wall will be built across this area from the
unfinished concrete block in the right of the photo across to the left to
create the cross-hallway. The rest of this space becomes the new ladies'
room.

Larger Classroom! This was two classrooms before - the wall was removed
where the narrow gray strip is in between the windows. These two are
combined into one, larger classroom.
New Choir Room. This used to be the girls' restroom and the primary
assembly room. New block was installed to close both of the previous
doorways and a new doorway was cut closer to the sanctuary. This will
become the new, larger choir room so the members have room to take the
deep breathes they need to belt out their songs.
