Additional sheathing has been applied to the exterior
walls and the attic sheathing deck is complete over the classroom area.
Work has started to make changes to the former exterior walls will be
interior. A window in the old Pastor's study has been removed and the
window that will become the door from the narthex to provide access to the
stairway to the basement is being prepped for removal. Work is also
beginning in the old, small narthex at the "winding stairs"
entry which will connect with the new narthex.

The exterior wall of the new narthex is completely sheathed now, showing
the windows and door.

The interior of the new Narthex. A window has been removed from the old
pastor study. The window in the furthest corner - in the middle of the
photo will become a door to the stairs to the basement, while the wall
next to it will be opened into a doorway to the sanctuary. The graphic
below shows this area.

The south wall and southwest end is partially sheathed and walls in the
attic
area are being constructed to support the roof structure.

The interior areas are starting to take shape in the addition. The photo
above is
the south end of the addition, which will be a classroom and the nursery.
The photo below is the middle of the new addition, which will be two
classrooms and a hallway. Graphic excerpts from the plans show these two
areas. The red arrows indicate the direction of view in the photo and the
blue lines represent the walls in view. The other walls need to be built
yet.

The additional steps have been completed for the emergency exit from the
basement.

In the existing sunday school wing, work continues. Workers have welding
the ceiling steel rafters, adding additional strength with rod steel to
support the new heating and cooling equipment that will be on the roof.
The plumbing supply lines have been roughed in, using copper, in the
ladies restroom.
